Lyford Cay International School students benefit from two beautiful campuses spread over a total of 23.5 acres. The Lower School campus and Upper School campus are just a half-mile apart.
Our Lower School campus for students in Preschool to Grade 6 (18 months to 11 years old) is located within the secure, gated community of Lyford Cay. The campus has spacious classrooms, science labs, an art studio, a 25-metre heated swimming pool, a high-quality soccer field, kitchen, multipurpose hall and a basketball court. There are also dedicated, child-safe (soft-surface), shaded play spaces for each age group.
The Upper School campus was officially opened in June 2021 and currently serves students in Grades 7-12 (11-18 years old). It is a purpose-built facility with modern science and design labs, a dance theatre, art studio, spacious general classrooms, student support rooms and a multipurpose courts complex. The design of the pink building pays homage to LCIS’ long history in the community of Lyford Cay and The Bahamas with spacious verandahs and ample outdoor learning spaces for students.
The completed buildings and sports facilities of the Upper School campus represent Phase 1 a multi-year master plan. Future facilities include an additional academic building, multipurpose hall/gymnasium, swimming pool, track and soccer field, an amphitheatre and boarding facilities.
Facilities are shared across our two campuses, and students regularly move between them for co-curricular activities. Having been a single-campus school for 60 years of its history, LCIS sees value in the mentorship opportunities provided by the interaction of younger and older students. We often say that we are
“Two Campuses, One Community.”
